How KodeWitz built a configurable Announcement Management Module on Salesforce Experience Cloud — giving HR and Marketing teams full control to create, manage, and display rich announcements in a dynamic carousel, without developer involvement.
HR and Marketing teams needed to publish timely announcements — policy updates, events, campaigns — on the company's Salesforce Experience Cloud portal. But there was no self-service way to manage content. Every announcement required raising a request, waiting for a developer to update the page, and going through a change process that could take days.
The portal had no centralised announcement area. Content was scattered, visually inconsistent, and impossible for non-technical teams to control. Teams had no visibility into what was live, what had been deactivated, or what order announcements appeared in — and updating a single banner could take the better part of a working day.
Developer dependency — every announcement update required IT involvement, creating a bottleneck for time-sensitive communications
No centralised management — announcement content was scattered across multiple places with no single view or consistent format
No control over ordering — teams couldn't prioritise or sequence announcements — display order was fixed and inflexible
No access control — no restriction on who could modify portal content, creating a risk of unauthorised or inconsistent changes
No active/inactive management — expired announcements remained visible with no easy way to deactivate content without IT support
Announcements are displayed as a rich, auto-configured carousel — complete with images, body text, CTA buttons, and custom slide ordering. Configured once, managed forever by admins.
A fully self-service announcement management system — from creation to display — with role-based access ensuring only the right teams can publish.
Announcements are displayed dynamically in a carousel component configured once on the Experience Cloud site. The carousel automatically picks up active announcements, respects slide order, and updates in real-time as admins make changes — no reconfiguration needed.
Single LWC carousel component — configured once — auto-renders all active announcements dynamically
Authorised HR and Marketing users see a clean Lightning Datatable listing all announcement records — with inline controls to edit, deactivate, or reorder. Full visibility into what is live, inactive, or scheduled at a glance.
Built with lightning-datatable — displays all announcements with edit and deactivate actions
A rich pop-up modal handles announcement creation and editing — with fields for title, body, slide order, button label, button URL, and image upload. All in one focused interface, no page navigation required.
LWC modal form — supports image file upload + all announcement fields
A structured Apex wrapper class handles all server-side processing — fetching, saving, and returning announcement data efficiently. Toast messages provide clear success and error feedback at every action point.

Admins set the exact order announcements appear in the carousel via a numeric slide order field. Announcements can be deactivated instantly — removing them from the portal without deletion — keeping a full history of past communications.
Slide order via numeric field — deactivation via active/inactive toggle on record
The pop-up modal gives authorised users everything they need to publish a fully featured announcement — no developer, no page builder, no waiting.
Write the announcement headline and detailed body text directly in the modal — formatted and ready for the carousel
Add a call-to-action button with a custom label and destination URL — drives portal users to the right content
Set the exact position in the carousel — priority announcements go first, others follow in the defined sequence
Upload a custom image directly from the modal — displayed alongside the announcement in the carousel tile
Access to the Announcement Management Module is controlled via Salesforce Permission Sets — ensuring only HR and Marketing teams can create and manage content.
HR teams use the module to publish internal announcements — performance review reminders, policy updates, benefits information, compliance notices, and onboarding communications across the employee portal.
Marketing teams use the module to publish campaign announcements, product launches, company events, and partner communications — with full image and CTA button support for rich, on-brand content.
The entire announcement lifecycle — create, manage, display, deactivate — runs inside Salesforce without IT involvement.
Teams went from waiting days for IT to publishing announcements in minutes — with full creative control, visibility, and access management built in.
